Yoga in Tuscany May 7-14, 2011

"A retreat is a brief sanctuary, but yoga follows you home. It continues to open
and change your life. Like Tuscany, it seeps into your blood."
Vacation is so good for the soul! Stepping away from the chores of home life and work, to experience the Italian culture has a way of nurturing and revitalizing the spirit. Add that to a course in hatha yoga to deepen your inner connection and you may have the perfect holiday.

Quintessentially Italian, the Tuscan landscape is unmatched, with many vistas unchanged since first beheld by Renaissance artists. This retreat is set in a hillside, 17th century restored convent, LaCappella. It is located seven km. from the small walled city of Lucca, and has long been a place of spiritual study and growth. LaCappella means The Chapel, and it has its own, always open to the quests.

Lucca is an hours drive from Florence, Pisa and the coastal town of Camaiore Lido. The villa is situated in a quiet, private setting, with its swimming pool overlooking Lucca and the typical hill-towns, vineyards and olive groves in the heart of Tuscany. LaCappella's lawn and gardens are abundant with lush flowers and aromatic trees, and the house is spacious and elegantly furnished. Each participant can choose between a private room and bath or a shared one. There is a large Tuscan kitchen and a yoga room with tiled floor overlooking the beauty of the landscape.

The schedule offers time between yoga sessions to explore, walk the hills, bike around the park/wall of Lucca, or simply relax by the pool. In the evenings we often go to sample some of the culinary feasts of the surrounding restaurants, sometimes stay in to cook, or have a catered meal. The choice is yours. You may find this retreat in Italy transformational, sending you home with renewed vitality, clearer perception, and expanded options for the design of your life, (and maybe a new pair of Italian shoes)! It's a great way to travel abroad, maybe for your first time, with a little guidance, and is a wonderful balance of deep practice and vacation time.

Once again this year a cooking class will be offered with Carla, a spirited local chef. You can take the class which includes your meal afterwards, or just enjoy the meal that has been prepared. Priced according to how many particpate in the evenings' class, or simply enjoy the meal after it has been prepared.
